Automatic File Transfer (AFT) is a protocol used by Nortel Networks to download billing data from their DMS-100 model telephone switches.
Advanced Relay has ported its AFT over X.25 implementation to run on the PXS. For this application, a PXS is directly connected to a DMS-100 switch. Using X.25, it downloads billing records and forwards them to a remote file server over TCP/IP where the records are written to disk. All of the details related to X.25 and the AFT protocol are handled inside the PXS. During operation, the PXS logs its activities to a remote log server.
