Windows 9x Plug and Play

Introduction

LayGO device drivers for PCI boards and PCMCIA cards support Windows Plug and Play installation under Windows 9x. This eliminates manual configuration of hardware parameters in most cases. The files required for installation are located in the LayGO drv directory:

Plug and Play installation requires 3 steps

  1. Initialize the Registry. In Windows explorer, just double-click the LAYGO32x.REG file. The regedit utility will be invoked to add the entries to the Registry.
  2. Install the hardware:
  3. Install the driver. Windows should detect that new hardware has been added to the system and automatically begin the installation process.

Windows 95

Windows 95 will normally display the New Hardware Found dialog when it detects new Plug and Play hardware.

Select the Driver from disk option and click OK.

Enter the path to the LayGO drv directory and click OK to complete installation.

Windows 98

Windows 98 will normally start the Add New Hardware Wizard when it detects new Plug and Play hardware. Click Next until the following page appears:

Select the Display a list option and click Next.

Select Other devices click Next.

Click Have Disk.

Enter the path to the LayGO drv directory and click OK.

Select the model and click Next.

Click Next to install the driver, then click Finish on the last page to complete the installation.
